The end of an era…

…the era of Red Vs. Blue. God, has it really been four years? I mean, I jumped in at the start of the fourth season, so I came late to the party, but I jumped in headfirst, and took in the community. But this isn’t just the end of one series, it’s the end of the series, the one that started the whole machinima craze in the first place! RvB is the de facto standard for machinima in this universe. You aren’t considered an actual machinima artist unless you can match up to the standards of comedy, script quality, and visual mastery set forth by Rooster Teeth in that first episode. But enough of me singing their praises; why don’t I just talk about the final episode!

Started solving one problem, finished solving another…

So I went into the code today to fix an insignificant, yet niggling problem. If you look at the source, you’ll see that the profile bar on the left comes first, followed by the sidebar on the right, and finally the content in the middle; I went in today meaning to fix that so the profile bar comes in first, then the content, and finally th sidebar, as God and Al Gore intended. However, when I went in, I decided “Hell, I’m already here, why not work on the resolution problem?” The resolution problem, as some of you 0 readers may know, is no problem to the 1024×768 viewers, since I figured I’d see the most of them and just decided to style my website accordingly. However, for those of you who have computers with higher resolutions (myself included, 1280×800), the website was anchored to the left side, and was quite small, as it had to fit in a 1024×768 screen; if some of you were running 1920×1280 screens, your screen really would’ve gone to waste. So I went right along fixing it, since I was having problems fixing the sequence problem, and I thought that fixing the display problem might help. Well lo and behold, it didn’t. But now I can display in just about every screen! I just had to make the center div width auto, and set the margins (big ups to Dynamic Drive on that one!), and it works perfectly! The sequence problem is still an issue, but right now I just want to revel in the fact that my screen in finally filled!

I hate the GIMP.

For the biggest part, it’s the only image editing software that WON’T let you color in black when you select it! I don’t see why it comes so highly regarded, I would rather be using Paint. At least it lets you color in lack. Case in point: right now I’m trying to get the comment bubbles working right, but the default color was too bright, so I had to edit it. and In comes GIMP, with no matter what color I choose is being displayed in the shade of gray that was too bright in the first place! Now I’m wasting time trying to find a new image editing software to actually finish the job the GIMP was supposed to do, and I’m writing this rant. *sigh* I need to get laid.

Yay!

After many webhosts; some good, some bad, and many nights of work, Mischivous.com is finally up on June 18! If I could drink, I’d be wasted somewhere now!
