Pretty Confusing Privacy

Thu 30 April 2009

It might just be that I'm an idiot, but I found it amazingly hard to properly create my PGP key setup. I have it so that I have a master key I use only for signing that (theoretically) will never expire, and a revolving PGP that expires every six months and is signed by the larger key that is used for encryption. While it was simple to create the keys themselves, setting them up (by signing them, and putting an image into the larger master key) was another method entirely; I lost count of how many times I had to restore my keys.

Oh well - at least if I have to do any sort of espionage my emails can be encrypted.
